Our Mission
At Hudson Hill, we aim to enhance the quality of life for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities. We encourage achievement of maximum potential and empower autonomy while teaching social and domestic skills.
Hudson Hill promotes independent living among adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities by cultivating a supportive learning environment that is both accessible and efficient. We teach everyday tasks such as laundry, cooking, self-care, and personal hygiene while also nurturing community awareness, safety and other skills vital to enjoying life independently.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Wendy Mandelbaum
Wendy is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. She began her career in the Livingston School Pride Program, where her passion for working with this population was ignited. This led her to the Adult Pride Program for ECLC in Chatham, where she further honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the unique challenges faced by adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Throughout her career, Wendy has held various roles, including providing direct support to individuals in a group home setting to later serving as the Director of Operations for group homes. In these positions, she successfully managed day-to-day operations, ensured compliance with regulations, and facilitated staff training and onboarding.
Driven by her passion for the I/DD community, Wendy decided to establish Hudson Hill, an initiative where adults with disabilities can live and thrive in a community that supports their individual needs and wants.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Samantha Boruchov
Samantha is a highly accomplished professional who has made a significant impact in the fields of education and adult support services. With a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. from Fordham University along with her background as a school Psychologist in inner city schools for three years, Samantha honed her skills in addressing diverse needs within challenging environments. Her expertise includes conducting assessments, implementing intervention strategies, and collaborating with various stakeholders to create effective support plans for students.
Motivated by a desire for personal and professional growth, Samantha decided to pursue a career change and shifted her focus to the adult world, specifically providing direct support to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Taking on the role of a House Administrator for a residence dedicated to adults with disabilities, Samantha showcased exceptional leadership and organizational abilities.
As a House Administrator, Samantha skillfully managed the day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for residents. Her experience has led her to the position of Program Director at Hudson Hill where her strength in developing individualized support plans tailored to each resident’s unique needs and goals will greatly enhance their quality of life. Her excellent communication skills will allow her to effectively advocate for the rights and voices of the individuals she serves.
